Linguistic Research Opportunities in Atypical Language Development and Processing

Module Description:
This module explores cutting-edge research areas in language science, focusing on populations with atypical language development patterns. The course provides comprehensive knowledge and practical tools for investigating language acquisition, processing, and intervention in diverse populations. The module emphasizes cross-linguistic perspectives, culturally sensitive assessment, and innovative intervention strategies to support individuals with atypical language development across diverse contexts.
Module Objectives:
• Identify and conduct innovative linguistic research in atypical language development
• Examine how neurodevelopmental conditions influence language acquisition and processing
• Explore patterns of language breakdown and recovery in acquired language disorders
• Assess advanced diagnostic tools (eye-tracking, natural language processing)
• Design linguistically-grounded interventions for language therapy

Eligibility:
• BS/ MPhil / PhD
• Researchers (Social Sciences and Humanities)
• Research supervisors (Social Sciences and Humanities)

Certification:
• The participants will be awarded certificates upon completing 10 hours of training (two hours each of the five days).
